On July 1st, the People's Net Sea, 10 seconds after putting on a bio-simulation lens, the electronic screens adjust their own clarity to your vision, the eye surgery is done by robots... At the national ophthalmological forum and seminar on new technologies in ophthalmology, held on 30 June, more than 400 ophthalmologists discussed and shared new ideas on ophthalmological treatment and surgical techniques. The Forum was organized by the Council of ophthalmologists of the Shanghai Association of Socio-medical Institutions, in collaboration with the Institute of ophthalmology of the University School of Medicine and the Benzi Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai University of Transport.
Second Pujiang Forum of National Eye Experts
“From traditional large-cut surgery to ultra-sonic emulsion, quasi-molecular, flying-second lasers, the development of ophthalmic medicine and optical equipment has been subversive for centuries, with numerous cataracts, gratuitous patients having improved their eyesight through surgery, and many blind people having recovered from a cornea transplant.” According to the Director-General of the Shanghai Observatoire Hospital Group, a part-time professor of the Shanghai Zone at the University of Toji, the operation has become “slash-free” in the past decades, with the change of time from hours to minutes, the treatment process having been safer and many of the envisaged treatments having been achieved.
It was suggested that these changes might become more “scientific fiction” over the next 30 years as disciplines such as biological research and artificial intelligence developed. The use of stem cells, genotherapy for ophthalmology, Future Trends in Continuum Surgery, The Internet and Thinking about Eye Sciences, many exploratory topics have been the subject of intense debate among Forum participants.
Financial well suggests that, while it takes a considerable time for frontier technologies to be applied to clinical purposes, at the current rate of development, the ophthalmology is likely to usher in new changes within 30 years, offering hope for healing for those who are currently in a difficult position to cure.
We now have more than 300 million people with near-sightedness, representing 33 per cent of the world ' s near-sighted population, and the incidence of glaucoma eye disease, such as glaucoma and cataracts, continues to rise with the development of ageing societies. The National Eye Health Plan, published in 2016, states that approximately 90 per cent of the country's counties have ophthalmological care facilities, of which about 90 per cent can perform independent cataract resurgent surgery, but the problem of cataract blindness among the rural poor has yet to be fully addressed and primary eye care needs to be strengthened.
Five issues of Stars of Visuality, training over 100 surgeons.
The Forum held the fifth graduation ceremony of the Star of Vision, in which 14 grass-roots doctors from 11 provinces and municipalities of the country received certificates of completion and became qualified surgeons who could perform ultra-sonic emulsion of cataracts independently or in support of them.
It is known that the “Star of Visuality” is the national eye doctor training programme launched at the first Pujiang Forum in October 2017. Within less than one year, the project has completed five free training sessions, exporting more than 100 surgeons to the country and serving 100,000 cataract patients per year, based on 1,000 annual surgeries per doctor.
